Dulwich International School – Phase 2
Location: Shanghai, China
International school design based on the concept of merging traditional British and Chinese education values. The facades around the external envelope of the buildings seek to echo the values and traditions of the Dulwich School and brand. Using more formal architectural rhythms, forms and materiality the facades will create an urban presence that balances with the Phase 1 design whilst expressing its own distinct architectural character. In contrast, the facades within the central courtyards of the school are a modern interpretation of traditional Chinese architectural elements, creating a dynamic and exciting learning environment for the students. Outdoor terraces, connected to SE21 breakout spaces within the building, provide outdoor learning opportunities whilst playful stepping up to the large exploratory garden and running track on the rooftop.
